Twice Upon A Meme...

This first one is because miss scarlett (aka my kindred spirit..we have so much in common it's a little scary! =) ) tagged me...

1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves
2. People who are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules
3. At the end of your blog you need to tag 8 people and post their names
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Alright, here gos.....

1) I have at least 12 holds at the library at all times

2) Very rarely am I late getting them in by their due dates

3) I am infatuated with dragonflies....(I know I am not alone in this..but I WAS FIRST!) =) So much so that 99% of the time if something has a dragonfly on it..or is named dragonfly (like that yarn I just got from the Loopy Ewe *cough *cough)..I have to buy it.

4) I have a tattoo, and I want at least two more (one of them being a dragonfly).

5) I have/have had 5 piercings on my body..and no, they were not all in my ears.

6) One of those piercings was in my nose..which I have had pierced (and re pierced) 3 is now closed because I can not have a nose piercing at my job.

7) I love meat, but it completely grosses me out to eat anything that is bloody/pink..or that has bones, skin, or shell attached to it. (I once went on a date where the guy spent over $100 on steak and lobster, I could not eat any of it because they refused to cook the steak more then medium, and the lobster came in its shell..we had to leave in a hurry because I got violently ill!)
--And yes, I do realize this is a bit ironic since I work in the food industry--

8) I play with my hair constantly. It is extremely distracting and annoying to myself and others. I have no idea how I developed this habit, but it is so ingrained in me I am not even aware I am doing it until someone points it out to me.

Now, who will I tag? Hmmmmm.

Well, how about this? If you just read that meme, consider yourself tagged! HA! And if you do post, let me know!

"As defined by Richard Dawkins in The Selfish Gene (1976): 'a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation.'"

I knew being married to a social scientist would come in handy. Anyhow, that's it.

Nice list.

Ah, my understanding (which is notably limited and not related to social science in any way -- i.e. take with a grain of salt), is that it is literally what it's called -- a collection of items/info about MeMe... I don't generally meme, but I do particularly like the have/may/won't listing... (there's a first for everything?)...

Here we are:
a cultural unit (an idea or value or pattern of behavior) that is passed from one person to another by non-genetic means (as by imitation); "memes are the cultural counterpart of genes"

Pronounced meem

I had never heard of these until I started blogging. Interesting hey?

Kindred Spirit! I love it.

OK I always have holds at the library too - BUT they are generally overdue (and I mean overdue to the point of $30-40 fines) BUT I never mind paying the fees because they buy more books. I used to volunteer at the Library and we always joke that there should be a row or 2 of shelves named in my honour.

My sister-in-law-to-be loves dragonflies too...which means I have access to a lot of dragonfly patterns...

I had my belly button pierced but when I gained weight it hurt too much so I had it removed...if I ever lose (ooops WHEN I lose) the weight I might just get another piercing.

I play with my hair when I am tired. It is a dead giveaway that I should really go to bed. That and my one 'shrinky eye' as we call it. My Mom says I have had it since I was a toddler and she always knew when I needed a nap because of it.
Actually my answer is more interesting than my posting...what is that about?!

Anyways - I am going to go do the 2nd half of your meme.

Hmmm... so is it really possible to return library books on time? And not get a beep when you check out your next set of books/videos/tapes..
